1. Eligibility Criteria:The minimum passing criteria for the Ph. D. Entrance 2023 examination are as follows: General category candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks, while reserved category candidates must score a minimum of 45% marks. In addition, candidates must independently pass each paper with a minimum of 40% marks.
2. Registration on JSPM University Portal:A student must register with valid Email Id and Mobile No.
3. Online Application Form: An online application form must be filled up by specify his / her domain of research, with all relevant information. Then a photograph and signature must be uploaded followed by payment of Research Program Entrance Test fees of (INR). 1000/- and finally submit the application form.
4. Entrance Examination: JSPM University conducts a Research Program entrance examination to evaluate the candidates' subject knowledge, research aptitude, and analytical abilities. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions.
5. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview or an interaction round. The interview panel assesses the candidate's research aptitude, subject knowledge, and suitability for the Ph. D. program. They may also inquire about the candidate's research proposal and academic background.
6. Merit List and Selection: Based on the performance in the entrance examination and interview, a merit list is prepared. The candidates who meet the minimum qualifying criteria and rank high in the merit list are selected for admission.
7. Provisional Admission: Candidates who are offered admission are usually given a provisional admission letter, which specifies the conditions, if any, that need to be fulfilled before the final admission is confirmed.
8. Confirmation of Admission: Candidates who accept the admission offer and fulfil all the conditions, such as submitting the required documents and paying the admission fees, are granted final admission to the Ph. D. program.
9. Research Proposal: Applicants are typically required to submit a research proposal outlining their intended research area, objectives, methodology, and potential contributions to the field. The proposal is evaluated to assess its feasibility and alignment with the research interests of the institution.

Candidates who have cleared NET/SET/SLET/GATE/JRF/ M. Phil in the relevant discipline or are UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR DBT*/ RGNF*/ MANF*/ DST Inspire* &NBHM* Fellows shall be exempted from the Entrance examination during the period of the validity of the concerned test. They will however be required to appear for the Personal Interview. |

Yes, you can modify any set of personal details. You can do this after you have received your user id/ email and password until Last Date for receipt of application form, or even there after. |
I filled up the form online and have taken the DD also. I do not have access to a printer to print the payment advice form. What do I do? |
You need to fill in your details with your SCRI ID on a plain white sheet and send the DD along with it. |
I have registered online and sent the DD/Bank counterfoil. What is the next step? |
You will get an email from JSPM University confirming log-in and password. Once the DD gets deposited, your application will be processed further. |
Do I have to come and stay in the campus? |

JSPM University only provides JSPM JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) for Ph. D. scholars. If you have cleared any national level fellowship examination, you can get fellowship. |
As a full time, Ph. D. student, can I work after classes to support myself financially? |

I do not have any idea of the research topic, what should I do? |
Think of a good topic before you apply. Read few latest research papers in your subject of interest. Clarity on topic will help you in interview. |
Can I work without supervisor for my Ph. D.? |
