WHAT I WISH I KNEW ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH
BLOG 1: WHAT I WISH I KNEW ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH
Mental Health Day In our fast-moving world, where everyone is chasing success and recognition, we often forget to take care of something equally important, our mind. The pressure to perform well in studies, work, and relationships can sometimes make us feel lost and exhausted. Many people focus on their physical health but ignore the mental side of their well-being. A healthy mind gives us the strength to face challenges, make wise decisions, and stay grounded every day. Mental health is not only about being happy or sad, it is about how we think, feel, and act in different situations. It shapes the way we handle stress, communicate with others, and find balance even when life gets difficult. Sadly, many people still hesitate to talk about their mental struggles because of the fear of being judged or misunderstood.
This silence often leads to deeper pain and loneliness. On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, it is important to remind ourselves that mental wellness matters just as much as physical health. Every person experiences moments of anxiety, fear, or sadness, and that is completely normal. What is not normal is ignoring these emotions or pretending to be fine when we are not. Talking about our feelings, seeking help, and understanding our emotions are the first steps toward healing. What I wish I knew about mental health is that it is okay to ask for help. It does not make anyone weak, it shows strength and courage. I also wish I knew that taking a break does not mean giving up, it means giving yourself the time to breathe and heal. Small actions like going for a walk, writing your thoughts down, meditating, or spending time with loved ones can make a big difference.
We should learn to treat mental health with the same care and attention we give to our physical fitness. Just like we visit a doctor when we feel unwell, we should also talk to someone when our mind feels heavy. Being kind to ourselves and others can completely change how we see the world. It can help us build a more understanding and compassionate community. Let us promise to check on our friends, listen without judging, and create safe spaces for honest conversations. Taking care of our mind is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Together, we can build a world where mental health is not ignored but respected, valued, and truly understood. Because when our mind is at peace, everything else falls into place.
Each day gives us a new chance to care for our mental well-being. It is never too late to slow down, reflect, and start again. Taking a few minutes to focus on ourselves can change how we feel and think. Let us remember that happiness does not come from perfection, it comes from peace of mind, self-acceptance, and the ability to embrace life with hope and kindness.

BLOG 2: ALWAYS ASK FOR HELP
Looking back, I am aware that mental health was a topic that I totally misinterpreted. Only depression or anxiety were serious issues in my eyes. I completely disregarded the fact that every person has mental health along with physical health and that it needs regular care.
It would have been great if I had known that at times being low is perfectly okay. I used to be that strong guy who would not show any feelings at all and as a consequence he was pretending everything was just fine. Little did I know that talking about what’s bothering you won’t make you weak; on the contrary, it will make you human.
Besides, I wish I had been aware of just how much little deeds can do. A simple thing like a walk, proper sleep, or saying 'no' when it is needed can change up the whole scenario.
Most notably, asking for help does not mean losing the battle. It is a brave act. Just one message to my younger self if I could: your emotions are important and your brain should get the same treatment as your body and be cared for.
