UGAM 2024: Induction Program - Day 2
Day 2 of UGAM 2024, themed “Kick Start to Success,” focused on connections and entrepreneurship. Mr. Vikram Makwana from the Heartfulness Organization led interactive activities and guided meditation on "Connection." Following this, Mr. Jitendra Upadhyaya inspired attendees for World Entrepreneur Day, while Dr. Anuradha Deshpande presented JSPM University's academic structure and opportunities.
UGAM 2024: Induction Program - Day 1
The UGAM 2024 induction program at JSPM University commenced with an inaugural ceremony on August 20, featuring Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Tanaji Sawant. His keynote address emphasized holistic development and introduced the Guardian Faculty Mentor system, inspiring 2,600 new students as they embark on their academic journey at the university.
Legal Awareness Program
Dr. Jyoti Shete, Program Coordinator at the School of Law, JSPM University Pune, hosted a Legal Awareness Program highlighting unique features of the institution. Key points included hybrid learning modes, solutions for those missing the CET, and a versatile syllabus designed to adapt to evolving legal education and student needs.
MoU Signing Between SCES, JSPM University, and PCERF
On February 21, 2024, the School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences (SCES) at JSPM University Pune signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation. This partnership, signed by Er. Narendra Kothari and Dr. B.B. Ahuja, aims to enhance academic and research capabilities through collaborative activities.
MOU with EduSKills
The Memorandum of Understanding between EduSkills Foundation and JSPM University, effective February 20, 2024, aims to enhance digital skills and IT education. The agreement outlines objectives, confidentiality, liability limits, and intellectual property rights. EduSkills will provide courses and support, while JSPM will promote programs and ensure necessary infrastructure for students.
Heritage Walk SPPU and visit to Pataleshwar Caves
The Department of History at JSPM University's School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences organized a Heritage Walk on September 14, 2024, led by faculty members Dr. Rohan Jadhav, Dr. Chetana Paigonde, Mr. Mrunal Patnekar, and Ms. Arusha Gawari. The event took first-year B.A. students to historical sites, including D.V. Potdar Sankul at Savitribai Phule Pune University and the ancient Pataleshwar Caves. Guided by research students from SPPU's History Department, the walk provided insights into Pune's rich heritage. Participants explored the architecture of the Governor's former residence and visited onsite museums, gaining an immersive learning experience. At Pataleshwar Caves, students appreciated ancient cave architecture, enhancing their understanding of cultural artifacts and career paths in heritage management. This enriching experience offered students valuable historical insights and broadened their perspectives on Pune’s heritage.
Principal Training Program
On October 26, 2024, the Faculty of Education and Humanities, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at JSPM University, hosted a Principal Training Program. Organized by the Center for Continuing and Lifelong Education, the event focused on enhancing academic leadership, governance, and management skills for school principals. Dr. Vijayanta Bhurale coordinated the event, while Dr. Ajit R. Thete, a respected academician, served as the resource person. The program aimed to deepen participants' understanding of academic leadership, introduce the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and emphasize Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and strategic planning. With over 30 principals and coordinators in attendance, the sessions were interactive and insightful, culminating in strengthened leadership capabilities and a clearer vision for implementing institutional improvements aligned with NEP 2020 goals. This successful event highlighted the faculty's commitment to ongoing professional development in educational leadership.
Harry Potter Skit and Quiz Competition
The Literati Cell of JSPM University’s Faculty of Education and Humanities, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Department of English organized an engaging “Harry Potter Skit and Quiz Competition” on October 25, 2024, at Chanakya Hall. Led by faculty members Mrs. Arpita Kaswa, Dr. Nikita Bhagat, and Vaishnavi Gaikwad, the event centered around the unique theme, “When Gen Z Harry Potter Met Bollywood.” Students performed skits combining iconic Harry Potter characters with Bollywood-style scenarios, delivering humorous dialogues, dance performances, and imaginative adaptations. The event aimed to foster creative thinking, boost confidence, and enhance stage presence among participants. A lively quiz added excitement, testing students’ knowledge of Harry Potter lore. Winners included Dr. Nikita Bhagat (faculty), Vaishnavi Gaikwad (faculty), and Sanchita Wagh (student). The event successfully captivated audiences, blending Harry Potter’s magical world with Bollywood’s vibrance, providing a memorable platform for students to showcase their creative talents.
Teacher’s Day Celeration
The Faculty of Education and Humanities at JSPM University’s School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences celebrated Teacher’s Day on September 5, 2024, with a meaningful event in the D2 Seminar Hall. Organized with the guidance of Dean Ms. Arpita Kaswa, the celebration aimed to recognize and honor the dedication of faculty members. The event opened with students welcoming teachers and presenting them with roses as tokens of appreciation. Highlights included a spirited ramp walk and a lively game of Teachers' Bingo, where teachers showcased their enthusiasm. A Talent Hunt followed, with teachers sharing their diverse skills, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. Ms. Kaswa concluded the event with an address, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of educators. The celebration successfully fostered stronger student-teacher relationships and emphasized educational values, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
JSPM University Hosts Essay Writing Competition on Anti-Ragging Awareness
On August 9, 2024, JSPM University hosted an essay writing competition to raise awareness about ragging, held at the Wagholi Campus. Fourteen students from various disciplines participated, submitting essays in English and Marathi. The event emphasized anti-ragging measures, with Jahnvi Prakash Chidrawar and Harshada Shivprasad Adale winning first prizes in their categories.
