Innovations in Teaching and Learning:
The Faculty of Education and Humanities, within the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, is dedicated to fostering innovative teaching and learning methods to enhance the educational experience for our students. Embracing a philosophy of experiential learning, several activities have been implemented to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Under the banner of real-world learning, our faculty actively incorporates enjoyable and enlightening visits to historical sites such as the Aga Khan Palace, forts, and museums. These excursions serve as practical applications of theoretical knowledge, providing students with a deeper understanding of the concepts they encounter in the classroom.
Recognizing the power of audio-visual tools, we integrate multimedia elements into the learning process. Students benefit from visual aids, music, and relevant videos, promoting a more profound connection with the subject matter. A recent example includes a movie screening of "Inside Out," complemented by presentations that facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
Emphasizing the importance of active engagement, brainstorming sessions are a regular feature. Students are encouraged to discuss assigned topics, exploring the advantages, disadvantages, and practical aspects of various concepts. This participatory approach not only enhances comprehension but also aids in long-term retention of knowledge.
In these ways, we strive to create a learning environment that goes beyond traditional methods, providing our students with a well-rounded and immersive educational experience.
