Visit to Fabtex The Indian Fabric Show Mumbai
An industrial visit to Fabtex Mumbai was organized for the first-year students as part of their academic curriculum. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the textile industry and help them understand its functioning beyond classroom learning. Fabtex Mumbai is a prominent textile exhibition that showcases a wide range of fabrics, accessories, machinery, and innovations from various sectors of the textile industry.
Students actively interacted with exhibitors, asked questions, and gained insights into fabric production, sourcing, and applications. This helped them understand how theoretical concepts are applied in real industry scenarios.
Study Tour to Vidhan Bhavan, Mumbai
The Department of Political Science and the School of Law, in collaboration with the Department of Economics, organised a study tour to Vidhan Bhavan on 17 April 2026. The visit was arranged as part of experiential learning to provide students with direct exposure to the functioning of the state legislative system and to strengthen their understanding of democratic institutions.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the proceedings of both the Vidhan Sabha and the Vidhan Parishad. Officials from the Vidhan Bhavan Secretariat guided the students through the legislative premises and explained important aspects of administrative functioning, legislative procedures, and the constitutional role of the state legislature.
An interactive session was also conducted with Secretariat officials, during which students gained valuable insights into the legislative process, functioning of elected representatives, question hour procedures, and law-making mechanisms. Students actively participated by asking questions related to assembly functioning, state governance and parliamentary conventions.
The study tour proved highly beneficial in connecting theoretical concepts studied in Political Science, Law and Economics with real institutional practices. It enabled students to understand legislative functioning through direct observation and encouraged critical engagement with democratic governance.
Participation on 15th Bharatiya Chhatra Samsand 2026
Students from the Department of Political Science actively participated in the three-day 15th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad organized by Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad.
Through sessions on Democracy, Leadership, Governance and Public Policy, along with debates and colloquiums, students gained deeper insights into constitutional values and public administration. The inauguration, interactive exchanges with eminent leaders and the valedictory discussions enriched their understanding of real-world policymaking. Students expressed highly positive feedback, highlighting improved confidence and analytical skills.
The Department of Political Science and FEU played a vital role in coordinating participation and ensuring meaningful academic engagement throughout the event.
Non-Textile Design Showcase 2025
The Department of Fashion Design successfully conducted its first Non-Textile Design Showcase on 22nd November 2025. This activity marked a significant milestone for the students, as they presented their first-ever non-textile design creations made entirely through their own creativity, imagination, and innovation.
The activity was designed to push students beyond traditional fabric-based design and challenge them to explore unconventional materials, forms, structures, and concepts.
Field Visit 2025-26
The School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education and Humanities (FEU), organized a three-day field immersion visit to the tribal regions of Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary from 3rd to 5th November 2025. The field visit was undertaken to strengthen students’ experiential learning and deepen their understanding of the social, political, economic, psychological, and linguistic realities of tribal communities, particularly the Mahadev Koli and Korku tribes.
The visit was conducted in collaboration with Shahid Rajguru Granthalay, Phalode Village, a local NGO actively involved in community development.
DesignBazaar – Diwali Flea Market 2025
The Department of Fashion Design successfully organized a Diwali Flea Market titled “DesignBazaar” on 16th October 2025. The event was conceptualized and managed entirely by First Year B.A. Fashion Design students, under guidance of department faculty. The objective of this initiative was to expose students to experiential learning through entrepreneurship, giving them a platform to understand branding, product display, sustainability, and customer interaction.
