FDP- IGBC 23-28th March 2026

The School of Civil and Environmental Sciences, JSPM University, Pune, successfully conducted a one-week online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Green Building Technologies and Sustainability” from 23rd to 28th March 2026. The programme aimed to strengthen understanding of sustainable practices among faculty, researchers, and students, with 70 participants actively engaging in expert-led sessions and discussions.

The FDP covered key themes including green audit, sustainable water management, water conservation in buildings, energy efficiency, sustainable materials, waste management, and recycling techniques. Sessions were delivered by distinguished experts from academia and industry, ensuring both theoretical insights and practical relevance.

Participants gained enhanced knowledge of environmental assessment methods, resource-efficient technologies, and sustainable design strategies. The programme also encouraged the integration of sustainability into teaching and research.

Overall, the FDP served as a valuable platform for professional development, promoting environmental responsibility and advancing sustainability-focused education.

A Remarkable Beginning at SCES, JSPM University Pune | 23rd March 2026
We are delighted to share the successful inauguration of the CII - Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Students’ Chapter (IGBC - Pune Chapter) along with the official launch of CASTLE (Civil Engineering Association of Students for Training, Leadership & Excellence), and the commencement of the 6-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Green Building Technologies & Sustainability” at the School of Civil and Environmental Sciences (SCES), JSPM University Pune.
This marks a significant step towards fostering awareness, leadership, innovation, and academic engagement in the domain of sustainable development and green building practices.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, and our dedicated student volunteers for their invaluable support and contributions in making the inaugural event a success

IGS Student Chapter

The 41st Student Chapter of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) at our institution was officially commenced on 5th September 2026. This initiative marks a significant step toward promoting geotechnical knowledge, research activities, and professional interaction among civil engineering students.

The establishment of the IGS Student Chapter aims to provide a platform for students to engage in technical activities such as workshops, expert lectures, case studies, and site visits related to geotechnical engineering. It encourages students to actively participate in professional development and industry interaction.

This association is established with the objective of providing a structured platform for Civil Engineering students to actively participate in academic, professional, technical, research-oriented, leadership, and extracurricular activities.
