Human Rights Awareness & Responsibilities of Young Citizens

A special lecture at JSPM University Pune by Mr. Manikandan covered human rights basics, the significance of Human Rights Day (UDHR, 1948), and rights relevant to students—education, speech, safety, equal treatment, and digital rights. It emphasized young citizens’ responsibilities: respecting others, avoiding discrimination, responsible social media use, and reporting injustice. Engineers were urged to use technology ethically for safety, privacy, and accessibility. The session concluded with a pledge to protect human dignity and promote equality through small, responsible actions.
