Get, Set, Investigate - Quiz Competition

Event Title: “Get, Set, Investigate - Online Quiz on National Crime Scene Investigation Competition”
The "Get, Set, Investigate - Online Quiz on National Crime Scene Investigation Competition" was organized by GIFSA-CRAFTS from the Government Institute of Forensic Science, Chh. Sambhajinagar. Coordinated by Mr. Swaroop S. Sonone, this event aimed to enhance participants' critical thinking and analytical skills through a dynamic quiz on crime scene investigation and forensic science. Sixteen B.Sc. Forensic Science students participated, working in teams to answer 50 questions within a 20-minute timeframe. Each question, worth 2 marks, was designed to test interdisciplinary knowledge and encourage problem-solving. Students were advised to review, discuss, and collaborate on answers, promoting teamwork and communication. The event successfully reinforced forensic concepts and fostered rapid information analysis, critical thinking, and student collaboration. It provided an engaging, competitive environment that motivated participants to deepen their learning and prepare rigorously for future forensic challenges.
Participation in 2nd National Crime Scene Investigation Competition

The students of the School of Behavioural and Forensic Sciences once again demonstrated their forensic brilliance and investigative prowess at CSI 2.0 – National Crime Scene Investigation Competition & Workshop, a prestigious platform organized by Government Institute of Forensic Science, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, in collaboration with the Department of Forensic Science, MGM University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
First Year M.Sc. Forensic Science students Ms. Sanchita Rautulwad and Ms. Rutuja Kadlag brought pride to the institution by securing the 2nd Prize (Runner-up) in the Postgraduate Category, showcasing exceptional analytical skills and teamwork under pressure.
CSI 2.0 is a cutting-edge national-level competition designed to simulate real-world crime scenes, pushing participants to apply scientific techniques, critical thinking, and collaboration in solving complex cases. The event was structured in multiple challenging rounds, beginning with an Online Quiz Round that tested in-depth knowledge across various forensic domains, including fingerprint analysis, toxicology, digital forensics, and crime scene reconstruction.
More than 12 elite teams from across the country competed in this forensic battle of minds. Sanchita and Rutuja’s stellar performance through each phase of the competition reflected their commitment to the discipline and their capability to handle intricate crime scene scenarios with precision and clarity. Their achievement not only highlights the high-quality education and training provided at the School of Behavioural and Forensic Sciences but also inspires fellow students to strive for excellence in the field of forensic investigation.
Forensic Science Students Shines at AIFSS, New Delhi 2025
Date: 14th and 15th April 2025
B.Sc. Forensic Science students from School of Behavioural and Forensic Sciences, JSPM University Pune, made an outstanding mark at the All India Forensic Science Summit (AIFSS) 2025 on the theme “Role of Forensic Science in Effective Implementation of New Criminal Laws and Combating Terrorism”, organized by the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) on 14th and 15th April 2025 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
The summit was inaugurated by the Honourable Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah Ji, and brought together leading forensic scientists, academicians, law enforcement officials, and students from across the country. It served as a premier platform for academic dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in the field of forensic science.
Ms. Anushka Kand and Mr. Parth Khillari, students of S.Y. B.Sc. Forensic Science, School of Behavioural and Forensic Sciences, JSPM University, delivered a remarkable oral presentation on the topic: “Next-Gen Forensics: A Tech-Driven Approach to Wildlife Forensics”, under Theme-I: Integrating Advanced Techniques in Forensics with the New Investigative Procedures under the New Criminal Laws.
Their presentation was widely appreciated by the audience and subject experts for its innovative approach, depth of research, and confident delivery, ultimately earning them the First Prize in their category. Furthermore, their research abstract was published in the official abstract book of the summit proceedings, further validating the academic merit of their work.
This achievement stands as a testament to the academic excellence and dedication of the students, and the strong mentorship and support from the faculty. The university proudly congratulates the winners and looks forward to many more such milestones in the future!
Forensic Science Students Win First Prize at ZSI Hackathon

School of Behavioural and Forensic Sciences at JSPM University Pune, is proud to announce that our M.Sc. Forensic Science students, Mr. Chaitanya Bhosale and Mr. Prathamesh Tapase, have secured the First Prize at the prestigious Hackathon organized by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Pune Regional Centre. Their innovative thinking, scientific approach, and team synergy helped them stand out among participants from various institutions. Their victory in the regional round qualifies them for the National Level Hackathon, where they will compete against the top three winners from all 16 regional zones of the ZSI.
