One-Day Hands-On Workshop on Pelletization Technologies

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, JSPM University Pune, organized a one-day hands-on workshop on “Pelletization Technologies: Extrusion–Spheronization & Fluidized Bed Processing” at the Seminar Hall and Machine Room. The session was conducted by Mr. Suraj Mohole and Pharmaceutics Department School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, with participation from 42 attendees.

The workshop introduced the fundamental principles and industrial relevance of pelletization technologies in pharmaceutical product development. It provided insights into extrusion–spheronization and fluidized bed processing, highlighting the relationship between formulation variables, process parameters, and pellet characteristics.

Expert-led sessions combined with live demonstrations enabled participants to gain practical exposure to equipment handling, process optimization, and troubleshooting. The workshop also emphasized the importance of industry–academia collaboration in advancing drug delivery systems.

Overall, the program was informative and skill-oriented, enhancing participants’ understanding and preparing them for real-world pharmaceutical applications.

Faculty Academic Engagements & Professional Development

Faculty members of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, JSPM University Pune, actively engaged in national-level academic initiatives. Dr. A. B. Deshmukh and Dr. Tanaji Nandgude attended a webinar on “How to Start an Academic Incubation Centre” (3rd January 2026), gaining insights into innovation and incubation practices. Dr. Deshmukh also served as a nominee member of CCSEA, Government of India, during an inspection on 31st January 2026. Dr. Amit S. Lunkad participated in a one-week FDP on “AI in Pharma: Transforming Education, Accelerating Research” (5th–10th January 2026). These activities highlight commitment to professional development and academic excellence.
